"A rainbow baby is a baby born after a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or infant loss. These babies are the rainbow after the storm - bringing hope, promise, healing, remembrance." This sweet family has recently suffered two losses. I've been taking their family photos since I opened KHP years ago, so have watched this family grow. I love them dearly. I was heartbroken when I heard of their losses and I was beyond excited when they announced their pregnancy with Baby E. He is definitely the rainbow after the storm and it was such an honor to be able to capture these precious moments for them.
Before our session, Mom told me that Baby E was a good sleeper. I was excited, because pretty much all of the newborns that I have shot, have been wide awake for most of their session. Baby E tried his hardest to make a liar out of his mommy. Despite being well fed and warm, he fought sleep. You can see him peeping in some of the photos. I felt like he watched my every move and I'm pretty sure he was mean mugging me a few times. He eventually gave in and went to sleep and we had a wonderful sessions. His big sisters were all about holding him and loving on him throughout the whole session. Their love for their baby brother is obvious and I have no doubt that they will fiercely protect him.
When I found out I would be doing this session, I knew I had to get the perfect props. The felt hearts and felt rainbow from Birdie Baby Boutique were so unique and the muted colors were perfect.
