Meet Lawrenceville Photographer

HI, I'M KRISTEN...

Storyteller; lover of light; preserver of memories; collector of smiles; chaser of sunsets; photographer.

“Sometimes you never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” -Dr. Seuss

When my little girl was just 3 years old she called the refrigerator a flitchalator. I remember the first time she said it. I laughed and corrected her. She put her hands on her hips, scrunched up her chubby face, and cut her eyes at me. No matter how hard she tried, it always came out flitchalator. Until it didn’t. She was so proud of herself when she finally learned how to correctly pronounce refrigerator, but it broke me a little. Those seemingly insignificant moments were slipping away faster than I could capture them.

Life is full of fleeting moments. Sometimes, I want to live those moments just a little bit longer and if you're reading this, I'm sure you feel the same way. Photos have a way of evoking feelings and bringing you right back to those cherished moments. Years from now, when you're looking through your photos, I hope you: feel the warmth of the sun on your face and the first flutters of new love to the excitement of the day you said “I do”; hear your child’s belly laugh and the whispered words of a loved one; smell your newborn baby and your grandma’s gardenias blooming; remember the way your baby's hand fit so perfectly in yours and how much pride you had the day that same baby graduated. My desire is to bring you back to those moments, like the way the smell of summer rain transports you to your childhood, running barefoot through the yard, puddle jumping, and laughing until your belly hurts. Life moves quickly and it's my job to catch glimpses of it before it fades away.

How I got started...

I've had a passion for photography since I was little. That passion stemmed from having only a handful of my own baby pictures and always feeling like a piece of me was missing. Maybe I'm a bit dramatic when it comes to photos, but I never want my kids to feel the way I felt. Naturally, as my children grow, so does my photo collection. My friends and family bought me my first DSLR camera for my 30th birthday and they urged me to open my own photography business. I was stubborn, spending the first few years getting to know my camera, soaking up everything I could possibly learn about photography, and gaining confidence from practicing with my friends and family. I realized that photography was part of my destiny, so I made it official and haven't looked back since.

A little more about me...

I am a wife to my very good looking bearded best friend, a mom to 2 teenagers- a hardworking 16-year-old son and sweet 15-year-old daughter, and a bonus mom to 2 spirited little boys. We are very family oriented bunch, who loves spending time together, cooking, playing games, eating dinner on the back porch, and cutting up with each other.

I am an army brat, but I've lived in Georgia since I was 4 years old. I come from a big family- 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Our house was never quiet and we always had someone to play with or torment. We had the best multi-room blanket forts and we put on the best Spice Girls concerts in our den.
